GAME OF THE WEEK: Colorado State vs. Nevada

GAME OF THE WEEK: Colorado State vs. Nevada

Colorado State Rams (15-4, 12-3 CONF) vs. Nevada Wolf Pack (14-9, 9-7 CONF)

Friday, March 5th

7pm

As this is posted the CSU Rams are 12-3 in Mountain West play with 3 more games to go; Air Force, New Mexico and Nevada.  Assuming the Rams handle Air Force and New Mexico (very likely) the Nevada game will be absolutely huge.  As it sits right now, CSU and San Diego state are tied in MW conference losses with 3 a piece.  The Aztecs have one more regular season game at UNLV which is going to be a tough place to play.  If the Rams win out, and San Diego drops theirs against the Rebels, then Colorado State will win their first ever MW regular season title.  Of course, if both teams win the rest of their games, it would appear that the regular season title will go to San Diego State.  The Mountain West Conference has rewarded San Diego State two wins over New Mexico (NM chose not to play SDSU back in early February so both games count as a forfeit)  so the Aztecs are actually 15-3 in conference play.  The best San Diego state could finish in MW play is 16-3 while the Rams best case would be 15-3.   Either way you slice this one, the Rams need to win out to improve upon their national tournament resume and the tough one in their way will be against a quad 2 team in the Nevada Wolf Pack.
