CSU Adds Hebb For 2021-22 Season

Loyola Chicago transfer will have three years of eligibility remaining

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State has added transfer Baylor Hebb (Colleyville, Texas/Heritage HS (Loyola Chicago)) to the program, head coach Niko Medved announced today. Hebb will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Rams.

“We are thrilled to add a young man like Baylor to our program,” Medved said. “He is someone who we have known since high school and we love what he brings to our program in terms of talent, competitive spirit and character. We are excited about the impact that Baylor can have both immediately and in the future.”

As a freshman at Loyola Chicago, Hebb contributed to the Ramblers’ Sweet 16 run, averaging 3.7 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.5 assists in his 19 games played off the bench. He scored a season-high 17 points and added four assists, three rebounds and a pair of steals in 22 minutes in a win against Saint Francis (Ill.) in December. He chipped in six points against Illinois State in December and then tallied six points in 12 minutes in a win against Northern Iowa on Jan. 17. He had eight points and a rebound in 20 minutes in his collegiate debut against Lewis on Dec. 5. For the season, he shot 51.2 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from the line and 67.6 percent from the foul line.

The 6-2 guard was rated by Rivals.com as a 3-star player and as the No. 38 shooting guard in the country prior to his senior year at Colleyville Heritage High School. As a senior in 2019-20, he averaged 23.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game, earning Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All-State, 7-5A District MVP and 5A All-Region 1 honors. Named Colleyville Heritage’s MVP and Offensive MVP his senior year, he led the Panthers to the 7-5A District championship and Bi-District championship. As a junior, he averaged 21.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 3.2 apg, while connecting on 55 percent of his field goal attempts and 46 percent of his tries from three-point land. For those efforts, he garnered Texas 7-5A Offensive Player of the Year, First Team TABC All-Region and was named NY2LA Basketball Association Offensive Player of the Year. He is one of just two players in Colleyville Heritage High School history to garner all-state recognition.

The Rams finished the 2020-21 season with just the fourth back-to-back 20-win season in program history, going 20-8 and advancing to the National Invitation Tournament Final Four.
