The Game
Both Northern Colorado and Houston Baptist enter Saturday looking for their first win of the season after each falling to an FBS opponent in week one. A win for UNC would not only be the first of the 2021 season for UNC, but also for Head Coach Ed McCaffrey. The Bears are 2-0 all-time against HBU.

Numbers to Know
27 – Twenty-seven Bears made their Blue & Gold debut on Friday at Colorado.
14 – Linebacker Jace Bobo recorded a career-best 14 tackles against CU.
665 – This will be UNC’s first game outside the state of Colorado in 665 days.
15 – Fifteen Bears will be returning to their home state on Saturday. 

Scouting the Huskies
• Houston Baptist opened its 2021 campaign with a trip to New Mexico. The Huskies fee to New Mexico in a close 27-17 decision. 
• First-year offensive coordinator Cedric Cormier looks to have better results than week one when his team was held to -9 yards rushing and 196 yards passing. 
• The Huskies start sophomore Blaise Bentsen at QB. In his first start, he was 27-47 for 194 yards and a touchdown. 
• Dreshawn Minnieweather may have been bottled up by New Mexico, but he was a preseason All-Southland selection.
• HBU had four preseasons All-Southland defensive players in LB Brennan Young, S Patrick Wolfe, DL Eagan Lijera and DL Phillip Ossai.
• Punter Brady Buell earned the Southland Special Teams Player of the Week for his week one performance, He had nine punts for 458 yards averaging 50.9  yards, including a 59 yarder.

Around the Big Sky
It was a big opening weekend for the Big Sky Conference as it earned three wins over FBS teams. Eastern Washington and UC Davis started the fun on Thursday beating UNLV and Tulsa, respectively. Montana took down a ranked FBS opponent going to Seattle and taking down No. 20 Washington.

The GOAT Sports Bar is the home away from home for UNC football. Fans that do not make the trip on the road with the Bears can head over to the GOAT Sports Bar to cheer on the team with other fans in Blue & Gold. 

What’s Ahead
Northern Colorado makes its 2021 debut at Nottingham Field next week when Lamar comes to town. The Bears and Cardinals will kick off at 2 pm.
