FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State men’s basketball has signed 6-10 forward/center Kyle Evans (Aliso Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Niko Medved announced today. Evans has reclassified into the 2022 class and will be part of the program for the upcoming season.

“We are thrilled to add a player like Kyle to our program,” Medved said. “He has a rare combination of offensive skill and an ability to block shots. His future at Colorado State is very bright.”

Evans led Santa Margarita to a 20-4 record, No. 3 final ranking in Orange County and a berth in the second round of the California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section Division I playoffs, earning Second Team All-Trinity League. As a junior, he averaged 12 points, nine rebounds and four blocks a game to help the Eagles to the 2021 CIF Southern California Regional title. Evans was also a baseball standout for Santa Margarita Catholic on the mound and was a part of the Eagles advancing to the CIF Southern Section Baseball Championships.
