GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado Athletic Department announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic the 2020-21 men’s and women’s
basketball seasons will begin without spectators in attendance at Bank of Colorado Arena.
The season is slated to begin the week of November 25.
As of Monday, November 16, the University is moving Colorado’s Safer at Home Orange COVID-19 response level, which limits large group gatherings to 50
people for inside events. Therefore, under the current conditions and state guidelines, UNC Athletics is unable to host fans at sporting events. Given the health
concerns, UNC Athletics has made the difficult decision to suspend fans at games through the end of December in support of the University’s ongoing mitigation
efforts to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
Tickets will not be sold for Northern Colorado non-conference games through the end of December and if possible, family members and guests of studentathletes and coaches will be accommodated first within the allocated capacity.
UNC Athletics will continue to monitor and follow all local and NCAA guidelines in regards to COVID-19 and collaborate with campus, local and state officials to
determine if event attendance with the safety of student-athletes, staff, attendees and the campus community in mind will be allowed in the future.
All UNC home games and Big Sky road games will continue to be streamed on Pluto TV. You can also catch all men’s basketball contests on the radio on 1310
am, KFKA.
