FARMINGTON, Utah – Following a dominant performance on Saturday in Northern Colorado’s 45-13 win over Houston Baptist, sophomore defensive lineman David Hoage earned his first career Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Hoage was all over the field in Saturday’s win against Houston Baptist. The sophomore had eight tackles, four for a loss, three sacks, recovered two fumbles and had five more quarterback hurries. Hoage’s three sacks were the most by a Bear since Kiefer Morris in 2017.

His second fumble recovery of the game set up UNC’s fifth touchdown as the Bears ran away from HBU 45-13. The majority of his damage came in the third quarter when he recorded a pair of sacks and had his second fumble recovery.

Northern Colorado hosts Lamar on Saturday for the home opener at 2 pm. Season and single-game tickets are still on sale at UNCBears.com/Tickets.
