Colorado Rockies @ Texas Rangers

Baseball is back! The Rockies begin their 60 game season on the road against the Texas Rangers. The Rangers were about a .500 team a season ago but thanks to a productive offseason, they have a starting rotation that could make some noise in this sprint of a season. Corey Kluber is back after suffering a broken right forearm and new additions Kyle Gibson and former Rockie Jordan Lyles promise to aid a pitching staff that was a significant concern in 2019.
As for the Rockies? Do we need to ask? Clearly their biggest question mark is their own pitching staff. German Marquez, Jon Gray and Kyle Freeland have all shown signs of being great but all 3 have been inconsistent. Freeland, for example, was nearly unstoppable in 2018 but 2019 was rough. Wade Davis carries a lot of pressure as well. He’ll need to be sharp early on if the Rockies want to contend with the Dodgers in 2020. Colorado still has the bats to win a lot of games but without solid pitching, we can expect another playoff-less season.
