Nearly three weeks ago when Northern Colorado and Weber State met it was a tale of two halves for the Bears. Up 10 at the half on their home floor, UNC was well on their way to overtaking the number one spot in the Big Sky. However, the Wildcats made halftime adjustments that the home team just couldn’t overcome. Weber State would go on to win 85-76.
The race to the finish line is heating up and the Bears still have a chance, perhaps small, of winning the regular season title. However, the week ahead will be full of challenges. With Southern Utah to start the week and Weber State to finish, we are going to know a lot more about this team come Sunday morning.
Sitting in 5th place in the Big Sky standings, if UNC wants to make a realistic push to the top, they’ll have to find success in mid February.
Can Daylen Kountz, the front runner for Conference player of the year, lead this team to where it wants to be? Monster week ahead.
