Kountz Picks Up Big Sky Player of the Week Honor

FARMINGTON, Utah — Daylen Kountz is off to a great start to his senior season, helping him earn the Big Sky Player of the Week announced Tuesday afternoon. He averaged 17.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks helping the Bears start 3-1.
It started with three straight 20-plus point games, helping him earn the Rainbow Classic MVP after averaging 20.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks.
Over the team’s four games he has set his career-high in rebounds (9) vs Hawaii Hilo and twice matched his career-best in assists (4) vs Hawaii and Colorado College.
Kountz has been shooting it well at a clip of 51.9% and going 12-of-16 from the line. Northern Colorado is the only Big Sky school to pick up two wins against Division I opponents so far this season.
The Bears start a four-game road trip on Wednesday when they face No. 8/5 Texas at 6:30 pm MT.
