Nuggets lose – Jamal Murray suffers knee injury late

The Denver Nuggets lost to the Golden State Warriors 116-107 on Monday night, making it 2 straight L’s for the team but that wasn’t the news of the night.  Jamal Murray returned to action after being out for a few games only to be helped off the court late in the contest after suffering what appeared to be a brutal left knee injury at the Chase Center.

Murray went down hard with just 50 seconds left in game.  It appeared his left knee went out and he was left writhing in pain on the floor with several teammates surrounding him.

“[It was a] very down locker room,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone said after the game.  “Yes, we lost the game, but I think everybody’s thoughts are with Jamal and hoping that he’s going to be OK.”

So far, there are no major details about the injury. Malone said he spoke with Murray briefly after the game, but that the team was waiting for an MRI to learn more.

The Nuggets play the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
