Air Force (4-16 2-14 CONF) vs. Colorado State (14-4 11-3 CONF)
Saturday, February 27th & Monday, March 1st
Normally, a top Mountain West team taking on a bottom dweller for the last “scheduled” regular season game(s) wouldn’t make my game of the week but with the race for #1 in the MW being so tight, these two games are absolutely huge. Colorado State hasn’t played since early February so there is a legitimate fear the Rams will have some rust to shake off. If CSU wants a shot at the regular season title (would be their first ever since joining the Mountain West) they HAVE to win both. Boise State will square off against San Diego State later this week and that will have a huge impact on where the Rams will finish but first things first, WIN. If CSU drops one to a struggling Air Force team, it won’t matter what the rest of the league does. Oh yea, and there’s that pesky NCAA tournament….will CSU make it in? Again, both Air Force games are MUST wins if they want to do something this year.
