Lake, Scott join the Rams for the 2021-22 school year

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State men’s basketball has signed Jalen Lake (Waxahachie, Texas/Waxahachie HS) and Jalen Scott (Surprise, Ariz./Paradise Honors HS) to National Letters of Intent, head coach Niko Medved announced today. The pair joins a squad that ended the 2019-20 season with a 20-12 record, the 11th 20-win season in program history.

Jalen Lake, G, 6-4, 185, Waxahachie, Texas (Waxahachie HS)

High School: Three-star prospect by 247Sports.com and Rivals.com, ranking in the top-50 shooting guards nationally and 12th best player in Texas… Known for his ability on the offensive end of the court as well as being a stout defender…. Helped Waxahachie to a 27-7 record in 2019-20, including advancing to the Texas Class 6A Playoffs Regional Quarterfinals… Averaged 14 points and three assists per game as a junior, earning first-team District 7-6A and second-team All-Ellis County honors… Played club basketball for Texas Impact [4:13]… Chose CSU over numerous offers, including Oklahoma State, Miami (Ohio), North Texas, UIC, Buffalo, Tulsa, UTEP and VCU among others.


Jalen Scott, G, 6-3, Surprise, Arizona (Paradise Honors HS)

Three-star recruit according to 247Sports.com, which has him rated as the No. 11 recruit in the state of Arizona and 38th point guard nation-wide… Averaged 12.1 points, 6.1 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game as a junior, earning 3A Metro West Region Defensive Player of the Year and all-conference honors from the Glendale Independent… Helped Paradise Honors to a 22-6 mark, advancing to Arizona’s 3A quarterfinals…. Tallied 20 points in the state tournament second round against Blue Ridge… Started since his freshman season and has 453 career assists in 84 games played (5.4 per game), while also averaging 2.2 steals per game through his career…. Averaged six assists a game his sophomore year… Chose the Rams over offers from Northern Arizona and UC Riverside… Wants to study business and finance at CSU.
